Bristling with enthusiasm and patriotism, Cutest and I, before the dew had even evaporated off the grass, marched to the WWI Museum. This is our regular voting site and today was local election day.
Voting was easy peasy. Do judges actually run? Anyway, then adorned with “I voted” stickers, we cruised to the nearby Town Topic eatery. For over 80 years the food served in this little white cinder block structure has helped sober up many late night revellers. But it was morning -- and we were sober. Alas.
Breakfast fare and hamburgers are the Topic's culinary draws. For me, all of their egg dishes are worthy of diving into. And then there are their mouth-watering pies. Nothing is fancy here; everything is satisfying. Cutest tried to convince me to get their chili, but it was already 90 degrees outside.
Our conclusions: A, be sure to always vote, and B, don’t forget that white Lego-like building at Broadway and Southwest Boulevard, even in the morning. You will feel very satisfied after doing both.
