Today's topic: The NFL Draft is in KC! Next week that is.
Yes, you knew that. And (hundreds of) thousands of people are supposed to come here next week. One-half of The Cutest Couple Ever is enthused. The other half: Just. Doesn't. Get. It. That one is writing this blog.
She can see the hoopla first-hand from her high perch just down the street from Union Station and across from Liberty Memorial. The action has been constant this last week or so. Roads are closed around her. She didn’t think The Nightmare That Is Main could get worse, but it has. She knows that Carolina Panthers get the first pick and then the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals. But she’s the fan of only one team.
In appeasing the other half, she’s downloaded the NFL One Pass app, and says she’ll probably walk across to participate. That part is free. Good merch is apparently available and Q39 is one of the vendors (wow, for plates at 26, 28, or 30 American dollars). A new venture from Lee’s Summit, The Urban Knife, is serving its fav loaded buffalo mac and cheese for those of us dieting. The woman-owned K.C. Wings Bar will be serving guess what on the western side of Union Station. There are others of course as well as a LOT of Budweiser beer. And music, too. Travis Kelsey’s getting into the act with his KelceJam.com out in Bonner Springs on the 28th where @MachineGunKelly,@Richforever, @Loudluxury and@TechN9NE will be playing.
So maybe at least this one half will go just to eat and drink and enjoy the crowd-watching. In She guesses it’s once in a lifetime. She hopes (if she's totally honest). But it's also once in a lifetime for Kansas City so YAY!
