As I sometimes tell the other, better, half, timing is everything. So it was no surprise when we arrived at Loose Park last week to find the sign saying that the rose garden was closed for an indeterminate number of hours. Or at least it seemed that way as we wandered the perimeter of the mostly spent roses.
We thought the first week of June would be perfect to admire floribunda in excess but clearly that was not the case. Shoulda been there two weeks ago. Climate change I swear.
However, it was still time well spent, a lovely walk in the park with much to focus on, even if briefly. The Plaza Messenger’s cup of coffee enriched with my usual too much cream and a prideful donut (my, that was sweet) enjoyed amidst the trees enhanced the somewhat early morning. And there were other flowers and interesting trees, a rabbit or two and even a kids’ "shower" I’ve never noticed before. And a happy dog. #Mindfulness.
Even bad timing can work out just fine. A rose by any other name shall smell as sweet, doncha know?
